Flash Technique
psychological therapy

Flash Technique (FT) is a new treatment developed by Dr Phil Manfield in the last fifteen years and it can be used as an integrated part of the preparation phase of the EMDR standard protocol. The Flash Technique in England and worldwide is well known and used as an integrated part of the EMDR preparation phase. This is a nearly “pain free” treatment when the client will recall the traumatic memory but will focus on a positive engagement focus – memory – in order to work through the pain/emotional distress. This treatment has also shown that the time needed to achieve a positive outcome is reduced and no details are needed of the traumatic memory.
This can help particularly client that find too distressful talking about the traumatic memory or the activation of this could cause more distress for which – the client – wouldn’t be able to proceed.
Everyone can benefit from FT including children and adults of all ages. This technique can help with:

  • Anxiety
  • OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorders)
  • Depression
  • Dissociation and much more
